Paraphrasing Paragraph 1 (pg 210) - Muller is basically saying that he realizes there is no easy fix to this problem. However, there are some reasonable goals to be achieved to lengthen our possiblities of getting rid of the waste. He is saying that we don't have to store the waste for 10,000 years. What we really have to do is to reduce the percentage of leaks from the uranium. That way it isn't more deadly than it was when we mined it from the ground.

Paraphrasing Paragraph 2 (pg 211) - This paragraph is bringing to light the fact that we have naturally radiating radon gas coming straight from the ground! This radon leakage being no result of human interaction. Muller is trying to explain how much water runs over WATER-SOLUBLE radioactive rock and just how much of that water is responsible for making up the Colorado River. With that being said, how can we possibly be pulling our hair out about the smaller portion of leaking radon caused by us? The radioactivity in the Colorado mountains amount to much more of a task than we could make in, as Muller said, 13 billion years.
